Cars for export

A car the Swiss used-car market has given up on can still sell abroad – we buy it, collect it and take care of the deregistration.

Swiss buyers of used cars are selective. High mileage, an older model year, an expired MFK inspection or a dent nobody wants to repair can leave a listing sitting for months, with the only replies coming from traders looking for a bargain. Elsewhere the picture is different: in many countries those same cars are in demand, get repaired locally and stay on the road for years.

That is the market we buy for – almost all makes from model year 2008, with or without damage. The price depends on the make and model, the model year, the mileage, the equipment and the real condition of the body, engine and gearbox. Your side of the process stays simple: inspection, offer, purchase contract, collection. We deal with the deregistration at the road traffic office so that nothing remains registered in your name.

Procedure

  • Describe the car — Make, model, model year, mileage and a few photos are enough for a first assessment.

  • Inspection — We look at the car at your address and give you a non-binding offer.

  • Purchase contract — The price is binding only once both parties have signed; until then you are free to walk away.

  • Handover — We collect the car free of charge, pay in cash against a receipt and deregister it at the road traffic office.

Step 1: your vehicle

Questions

What needs to be settled before I hand over the car?

Three things: a purchase contract signed by both sides, the deregistration at the road traffic office, and a clear arrangement for the registration document and number plates. Under Swiss rules the registered keeper remains responsible for a vehicle until it is deregistered or re-registered to someone else – which is why a car should never leave your hands on a handshake alone.

Do you buy cars with very high mileage?

Yes. For export, the odometer matters less than whether the make and model are wanted in the destination country and whether the engine and gearbox are sound. A well-kept car with a complete service history will fetch more than a neglected one of the same model year.

How is the offer put together, and which details help?

We start from the basics: make, model, body type, date of first registration, fuel, gearbox and mileage, plus a few photos of the exterior, the interior and the odometer. The more you tell us about equipment, service history, the last MFK inspection and any known faults, the closer the first estimate will be to the final purchase price. What shapes the value is age, mileage, condition, accident history, a complete service record and how much demand there is for that model. You are welcome to name the price you have in mind, but you do not have to.
